Director of Software
Location: Berlin, Munich, Heidelberg (Hybrid)

Our client is seeking an experienced engineering leader to head a large-scale software organisation spanning SaaS solutions and core platform frameworks. This is a senior leadership role with significant strategic influence, driving cloud product development and organisational excellence across a distributed, cross-functional engineering function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead a large engineering organisation, setting the direction for SaaS product development and shared platform capabilities across multiple product lines.
  • Co-define and execute the strategic technology roadmap in close partnership with executive leadership.
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are embedded rigorously throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Lead and develop senior engineering leaders, driving continuous improvement in scalability, quality, and innovation.
  • Represent the engineering function at executive and stakeholder level, building strong relationships internally and externally.

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience at Director, VP, or CTO level within SaaS product development, with accountability for large, distributed organisations.
  • Degree-level education in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Deep expertise in cloud architecture and SaaS platforms; familiarity with regulated software environments is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent English communication skills; German language skills are a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution capability and a track record of leading complex organisations through transformation.

Manager Software Development Location: Bavaria, Germany Our client is seeking an experienced Manager of Software Development to lead one or more of their development teams, taking both disciplinary and technical responsibility for their output, growth and direction. In this role you will have a decisive influence on feature development and carry responsibility for projects, technologies and software architecture. At least 1 year of leadership or management responsibility. Experience with CI/CD systems and release management. Solid understanding of software architecture and service design. Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders. Willingness to take ownership and actively shape a team.

Software Engineer Team Lead

Security Engineer Team Lead Location: Berlin, Germany Our client is seeking an experienced security engineering leader to build and drive a high-performing, delivery-oriented security team. You will take ownership of security across multiple products, bridging engineering, product, and information security to create measurable impact. Key Responsibilities: Build and lead a cross-functional security engineering team, fostering a modern, delivery-oriented culture among engineers and embedded security champions. Ensure each core product has a defined security owner, with backlogs that are transparently planned, prioritised, and consistently executed. Own end-to-end security backlog management - consolidating findings from audits, tooling, and external reports into well-structured tickets across relevant project boards. Drive a Kanban-based workflow and champion cross-product improvements including reusable patterns, shared templates, and strategic refactoring. Collaborate with Product Owners, Tech Leads, Engineering Management, and the Information Security function, reporting to senior stakeholders and keeping security progress, risks, and capacity visible and measurable. Requirements: 5+ years in software development, application security, or a comparable technical field, with at least 2–3 years in a lead role spanning multiple teams or products. Degree in computer science, IT security, software engineering, or a related STEM discipline. Hands-on experience with Jira or similar ALM tools, and strong familiarity with Kanban, CI/CD, secure SDLC, and common security tooling. Fluent German and English (written and spoken), comfortable engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
